What is wrong with Australian Stone Fruit

A: Nothing is wrong - Australian stone fruit is not available from May to November (out of season).

Many varieties grown in Australia were bred in California

 

How can Stone Fruit be available in Winter? 

A: It is Summer in California (June - August) and fruit is harvested and exported to Australia 

How much is exported to Australia

A: Around 1,000 to 2,000 tonnes which is less than 2 per cent of the volume of stone fruit grown in the Australian season from November to April

How do I know that stone fruit is ripe?

A: Peaches and nectarines are yellow at the stem end when ripe even if firm.
